Overview
“Monuments and heritage sites are the rich essence of diversity and reflection of our culture”. As we celebrate World Heritage Day on 18th April 2022, we would like to
highlight the importance of State heritage sites which are landmarks of outstanding historical, cultural and natural significance. Today India have thirty eight magnificent World Heritage sites out of which Himachal have two. Every heritage site in Himachal is a priceless marker of country history and identity. Not only do they contribute national pride but their global recognition have attracted millions of visitors every year.
On this occasion Himalayan Institute of digital arts (HIDA) in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh state Museum is pleased to announce the upcoming event “Shimla Heritage Photowalk 2022” this is a first attempt ever to present the state in a form of heritage walk with very famous heritage guide Mr.Sumit Raj Vashisht and Very talented Sr.Photo Journalist Mr.Amit Kumar and guest session by Mrs.Purnima Chauhan (Retd. IAS), Dr.O.C Handa ( Historian), Dr.Hari Chauhan ( Curator at State Museum).

Heritage sites and historical Monuments create a surreal bridge between the past and the future. In supporting 2022 World Heritage Day theme †Complex Pasts Diverse Futuresâ€. This Heritage Photowalk offer a unique opportunity to all the photographers/ students by weaving a tale through their art of capturing photographs. Folks/people/students of all age, gender, who love history,art, culture, literature can join us.
